Sounds like an 'Oh! Katie Derham' development. A nice change IYAM.

At least one never encounters one of them in a Robert Simpson symphony!...

              Hiya Padraig,

The mind boggles! But each to their own!

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Can anyone explain what you actually hear when you click on the short clip of Emily Hall's Eternity, here?

Petroc Trelawny presents Radio 3's classical breakfast show, featuring listener requests.

It doesn't appear to correspond to the music played on the programme.

See oddoneout's post on the EC thread re Petroc's mania re Hull which has grown through its year of Culture .... I too found it very irritating and very R2/Local Radio ....... and we are to have the weather for Hull for " ...the foreseeable future ...". I like the Squire but at times!!! ..... and are the times becoming more frequent ..... ???

I've requested Brighton & Hove rather than my home town. I have been lucky in having a few requests lately, namely Handel's Chaconne in G major. A lovely work, imo.

I go where music was born

I would include London-on-Sea as part of London, which is already mentioned anyway

An end of the year quiz ..... what would you think was the penultimate piece of music played on Breakfast in 2017. Alkers said they had decided to end with the Peace Piece by Bill Evans - but it was preceded by a great favourite hereabouts ......
