There are a couple who, in response to those seen as elderly 'high art' snobs, seem determined to push in the opposite direction. It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. Radio 3's contribution seems to be same as usual with 'BBC Music Day' tacked on in front of the programme titles and this:
which (in my view) may or may not be interesting but, whether or no, it's a Radio 3 thing to do; whereas a programme of music isn't much of a novelty however enjoyable .
Radio 2 seems to be plugging it with Gareth Malone, late of this parish, and the BBCSSO performing with Texas. So the bits that 2-3 years ago would have been simulcast with R3 are kept to R2, and R3 has the BBCNOW/Søndergård with Prokofiev & Stravinsky. There even seems to be a bit more meat in Radio 1's output ('How songwriting and music helped my mental health').
So, do complaints help … ?It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Not a Breakfast listener, normally; too early for me!. However I did hear at around 8.45 this morning a piece called Orchestral Groupies with Shaved Heads. I found out the title after I had listened to and enjoyed immensely a humorous piece of writing with a musical theme. Maybe the shaved head wasn't so funny, but it was a sparkling short story all the same.
PS I see there are 6 more pieces in this series. I must listen some more.
