Entertaining as ever, though he erred in saying that Lambert's The Rio Grande was a setting of a poem by Edith Sitwell.

It seems pretty clear that CBH's presence on Breakfast has been substantially reduced. Originally she appeared to be SM-P's replacement in alternating with PT (two weeks on, two weeks off or thereabouts). Now PT appears to be the sole usual weekday presenter, with his hols and days away being shared between CBH, IS and one or two others.

I have no complaints about this state of affairs!

I was on a less glamorous road trip this morning, and managed to stay tuned in to Breakfast from 7 to 9, which is about a five year high, I would guess.

Hope Skellers keeps you whistling all the way to the Ravel Museum......

( The latest (?) newsreader seems to have been training with KD though )

                Getting Skellered...

Keeping Skellers on permanently, alternating with the lovely Penny Gore would be radiophonic joy. The others? Phfffttt...

I'm surprised to hear you say that about the very experienced and excellent John Shea, and wonder what prompted you to do so.

Ah, perhaps the newsreader in question was the lady who took over later on in the morning. I usually try to ignore the news, and I was crossing Sussex ( east and west) behind a succession of slow moving lorries, so prolly a bit distracted .I'm certainly not referring to JS , so apologies for the error. )

I sometimes dream about a Radio 3 travel bulletin warning of congestion caused by a slow-moving Karajan.

What? Angela Rippon? After all, RC is no lady.

Might have been later on at 1.00 ?

                          Busy morning.....

                          Not Angela, of course.

...followed by a handover in which he described RC as having a rose between his teeth.
