I assume the rule is that there is a continuity announcer on duty is so that s/he can step in if there is a total breakdown in systems. Although I have once heard a prerecorded announcement along ne quittez pas lines. The continuity announcer's rôle can be elevated into an art-form; the trouble is that it can equally descend into the R3 link-speak equivalent of the hysterical audience responses on Sickeningly Dumb Prancing which I was initially convinced were canned until discovering to my horror that they're actually live.Originally posted by DaisyDog View PostComment
