From Yer Mobile this morning ......

Introduced Elgar's Scenes from the Bavarian Highlands as Highlife and corrected herself .......then repeated the trick at the end of the piece ..... Seems she does indeed live the highlife ......

I'm trying to communicate with R3's producers in a language they understand. Apols to all in advance.

I find that quite painful and would rather opt out of that altogether. But that's just me - and that particular sequence.
Juxtaposition of different styles/genres doesn't worry me over much, as long as I like the music (i.e. its "OK" - point taken!), but that's just me. I can fully appreciate your position, FF.

Some of us have been trying to defend the presenters by saying that it was the programme format that should be blames. I don’t know about others but I don’t think I’ll bother anymore. This sounds too genuine to be pretence. Maybe CBH is perfectly capable of being serious and silly. Good luck to her but how very sad for Radio3.

Off-topic, but talking of silly schoolgirl (or schoolboy) tweets, "Wigmore Hall" seems to be using its Twitter account to run some sort of knocking-shop:

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Caliban: If you would care to forward the information, Matt Leinart can be contacted through his booking agency on US phone number 800.966.1380. However with a fee between $5,000 and $10,000 he might outside the duty tweeter's price range.

Every young male I see is going for the bearded look right now. Are they anticipating Britain becoming an Islamic state?

Made the mistake of switching on R3 before 9am, and (but for deft work with the remote) nearly heard Breakfast plugging Kiri te Kanawa plugging Luciano Pavarotti - how very original, how very cutting edge...

I rather wish he had been plugged years ago.

Does that mean you missed the Slavonic Dance, Cali?

R3 was on here too, as our painter set to work on the windows.

How can they serve up this tired old stuff with a smile?

The Kiri-Pav thing sounded to me like Universal desperately trying to shift a bit more of their old 80s/90s Decca catalogue to gullible Breakfasters.

Are you going for the stained glass effect?
