I realise you were being jocular, Zucchers, old fruit (or should that be 'old veg'?), but no they wouldn't because people cannot attend live concerts at 7.30am, but they could listen to the radio if there was something that appealed to them.

Do you listen to the Breakfast Show with enjoyment? For how long per morning? From what time onwards?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

IOW 'all these morons' means all these who are morons, doesn't it? :-). I reckoned 'all' could not mean less than 3, otherwise it would have been 'both', or be singular. Well, we had been just accused of pedantry…)
Not for the first time FF you have lost me.......perhaps the number of morons had just gone up to 4 - me not you I should add!!

Me too, anton. Still, answering a question on behalf of someone else can be a tricky task and should probably be avoided. Is it too late for an authentic reply?

I never listen. I stopped one Friday when Cowan's show included 13 pieces performed by dead musicians. What's the point of that - I can't go and hear them. They're no use to me. So I haven't even heard The Bird Going Up In The Air song yet..

No, I could try explaining again about the nuances of English grammar but … :-)

Indeed you could but Coals rarely come to Newcastle Bristol fashion as Shakespeare must have said.....

Skellers really is head and tails above CBH. I do wish the new controller would read this forum - I think there is almost a consensus on this (Radio64 dissenting, if I recall correctly, and perhaps not for wholly musical reasons).

Imagine the scene. There I was, confined to bed by a particularly nasty bout of flu, with only Radio 3 to cheer me up (if that's the right expression). Feverish and possibly delirious, I became convinced I was hallucinating as I listened to music played backwards, two pieces being played simultaneously, CBH wittering about a 'dance box' or something of the sort, and RC almost helpless with mirth as he introduced yet another Slavonic Dance in between all the texts and tweets.

Could this really be Radio 3, the station which had once catered for people with ears, brains and taste? Sadly, it was. Then, one morning, all was well again. A miracle cure - the wonderful Skellers, calm, authoritative and erudite, actually letting us enjoy the music. Suddenly I began to feel better.
