On me desktop! AD's letter was a response to Catherine Nixey's opinion piece of 11 April 'Switch off the Radio 3 populists for good' - and CBH was the one presenter she mentioned by name. That was what I had in mind.

The D Telegraph also had a leader 5 April expressing relief at the changes - with a large picture of CBH, as one of the R3 presenters associated with 'making more simple and less intellectually demanding' (- it says here). I perfectly understand AD's concern to defend his team in public.

I spent a long time watering down that comment

It's 9.45 and I'm currently listening to morning radio. Now its guess identity of the two pieces of music played at the same time. Some might describe this as a jape. I describe it as moronic. Radio 3 needs to review what sort of programmes it is currently scheduling. Please don't anyone suggest Ant and Dec as a new presenting team.

It's worse than that. It is an insult to listeners' intelligence.

Nowt wrong with playing two tunes at the same time, so long as it's done with the right insurance policy in force:

I missed today's jape (luckily, by the sound of it). Maybe they could adapt a couple of ideas from I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue: Missa Solemnis on swanee whistle and kazoo. One Lied to the tune of another ....

But Mornington Crescent is hugely entertaining, as were Joseph Cooper's hidden melodies. This is just a waste of time.

I was just about to suggest - why not Joseph Cooper's dummy keyboard.............

                            I heard this
Not exactly a challenging task (and as mentioned before Ives does it so much better)
There ARE things that would be interesting to explore deeper listening BUT not this

Hiya MrGongGong, I was only half listening and I managed to get it within seconds.
