Perhaps he can also remove the 'live' trailers for the prog that follows Breakfast...........

Does anyone else find the music's volume level often too low in comparison to the announcer's voice level? The other morning, Barbirolli's arrangement of "Sheep May Safely Graze" was played but for the most part was almost inaudible. One may turn the sound up to a reasonable level of audibility but the moment it's over, and the presenter's voice comes in several decibels higher than those produced by a symphony orchestra, and the volume control has immediately to be turned back down again. Maybe it's deliberate, so that those still semi-slumbering aren't jolted out of their beds by too violent a fortissimo or two!

not to mention the 'live' trailer during Essential Classics for the lunchtime concert, the 'live' trailer during Afternoon On 3 for In Tune and the 'live' trailer during In Tune for the evening concert. Desperate attempts not to lose us I guess.

There seems to be a shift in emphasis in the trailers. And available online for thirty days afterwards has become the new strapline, IMV.

Not a bad strategy, that. We have lots of good things on this station, and what's more you can have them pretty much when you want.

Maybe some (mentioning no names) are simply voicing their thoughts while looking in the studio mirror ?

From what I hear, CBH must have been on the shampoo this morning. I'm told that she pronounced Elisabeth Schwarzkopf's name as if she were a hair product.

(Edited above post to avoid being hoist on my own petard with my spelling of Elisabeth, but too late, as it's been quoted by cloughie. Fergie would be reaching for the hairdryer. Which reminds me that a friend of mine had a German teacher called Herr Dreier. How their sides ached.)

I thought she got her tongue round it rather well.

Related to the barber, Herr Kutz?

I guess we should remember to give him thanks for stopping the dreaded phone-in...before asking to restore the BBC Third Programme :)
