it sounds like the cheese + tomato sauce on her eponymous pizza - totally manufactured with more sugar than is good for you

      Hiya Eine Alpensinfonie,

'Gushing'. It's more of a tidal wave!

Yes cloughie, she spells her name 'Margherita' as in the pizza.

Bad luck ferney - don't you just hate it when you're just that little bit too slow on the delete button...?

I was pretty sharp with the edit, though!

A dram of The Glenrothes, and I couldn't find the delete button!

                  PM box now has space.

On the subject of mannered announcers, R3's trailers for the Proms this year have been toe curling. I think it's Adam Buxton, trying to make the transition from comedy to longevity. But I can't believe anyone would speak that way other than intentionally.

And MH has just plugged Mary Anne Hobbs show on 6 Music as "wonderfully eclectic - I wouldn't be surprised if she played some Sibelius". Oh come off it. I wonder if MAH will plug MH's show as "likely to play Mumford & Sons"......?

I could not agree with you more about Margherita Taylor on CFM. Her ultra soft teddy-bear, scatter cushion and Horlicks style of presenting so full of superlatives is toe-curlingly nauseating. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. How absolutely blissfull". Sadly her late evening slot, when I am usually able to listen, often clashes with Late Junk Shop. What a choice! Thank goodness Margherita Taylor is not on Radio 3.
We used to say that about Pet Rock...And look where he is now!

Being competent one day doesn't really excuse crass stupidity on another though does it?
Not in such a high profile and sought after job.

I have KD on ignore, which I find helps avoid more of the crass stupidity, and releases time for other music that she happens to not be presenting.

I know we aren't supposed to single out presenters on here. But then again they aren't supposed to make offensive remarks.

                                Ditto Ms Derham!!

ITN newsreader Katie Derham is set to make her radio debut as the presenter of a new weekly show for national radio station Classic FM, writes Georgina Lipscomb
