Oh she's absurd isn't she!? That drooping, purring delivery - a feigned sort of drowsy-sounding ecstasy that suggests she's permanently on the brink of (well, this is a family Forum ... let's just use J.P Donleavy's phrase) ...of having her timbers piquantly shivered...

At least La Burton's affected lithping and La Derham's little nose-scrunchy smiley-voice moments are a few steps away from that, yet...

Btw welcome aboard, good to have you, DavidA

That could all change if you point it out to them , Cali.

I think shooting them's a bit harsh, old boy!

Then again... I have a couple of bullets left after attempting to silence the coughers in the RAH on Wednesday evening...

Both of them engraved, "for coughs", no doubt!

Taking cheap shots at three female presenters just to impress a newcomer is pretty pathetic even making allowance for age.

As a matter of fact Katie D was extremely competent and fluent in last week's Proms Extra with the formidable trio of Willard White, Janine Jansen and Sakari Oramo. (er, but a bit mannered)

If only that were the reason...

Good afternoon, Z, we've missed your cheery brand of charm!

                        Hiya DavidA,

I could not agree with you more about Margherita Taylor on CFM. Her ultra soft teddy-bear, scatter cushion and Horlicks style of presenting so full of superlatives is toe-curlingly nauseating. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. How absolutely blissfull". Sadly her late evening slot, when I am usually able to listen, often clashes with Late Junk Shop. What a choice! Thank goodness Margherita Taylor is not on Radio 3.

                              Sounds like a pizza designer!

I wouldn't mind the occasional bit of gushing if it didn't always come across as fake.
