personally, speaking as what Thropplenoggin calls a "Blerk", I have no idea of the contents of Loaded.

perhaps MLF would care to enlighten us.

Hope Rads mends his ways and avoids a second yellow he won't want to be suspended for Clemmies reapperance.

    or perhaps he would.

I recall something nearly similar, probably in the mid-70s. Another fill-in disc, IIRC Gieseking playing Debussy if only one had been able to hear through the surface noise, or more likely coarse beach-sand secured with chewing gum...

At the end of the track the male announcer, haven't a clue who it was, said "I must apologise for the surface noise on that record. It really was a bit gritty...

      ...one might even say...[long pause]...grotty!"

I fancied I could then hear icicles forming fast on the studio walls
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

Well, quite. Neither have I. Not sure why I mentioned it.

Sorry for bringing down the tone. I'll calm down in a minute.
Nothing profane, I assure you! (A legal term of reference, as it happens).

No apology required - I am terribly low brow.

At the mo I am reading J G Ballard (with occasional breaks) and listening to this.

                      mornin' all

Just wanted to say I'm really enjoying the choice and variety of music played this morning. (Aside form the 'Bach before Seven' bit which is getting a bit tedious)

That is all. Hope it's not yellow card material or I'm out..

                      Enjoy your breakfast.

I'm pretty sure I heard CB-H thank IS as well as PT. FWIW. But I'm sure the Beeb bosses will be relishing the click traffic generated by her return generally....

No you're definitely still on the pitch

Glad you enjoyed it. I definitely didn't enjoy the bit I heard. Is it me, or has La Burton acquired a lisp... ? Or has it always been there?

Either way, together with the sense that she trivialises everything she talks about, I find her completely unlistenable-to...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I won't mention the fact that she's been tweeting like a mad thing since the programme started ..

                            Aww..programme just finished.

Nice bit of Stravinsky opening up Essential though!

I agree, Sir. CBH is, for me, in a select group of two presenters who make me switch off (the other being SR). In my glorious reign, PT and IS would share breakfast duties, with SK and... wait for it... SMP covering In Tune. ( I maintain SMP is wasted on the dreadful "The Choir", but would do rather well on In Tune).

Any chance this thread could be merged with, say, "Scotland to charge for plastic bags", at least until all the feverish excitement dies down?
