Quote - "The opportunity that Radio 3 presents to be a force for good – to champion excellence, civility and the life of the mind in a society that doesn’t always cherish these things – is enormous."
An understatement if ever there was one. A good article though. Which Michael White is this? Can anyone advise please?
I think I read earlier that some people feel that there is a big difference between the daytime and weekend Breakfast programmes. I don't think I agree with that much. While Martin Handley is a pleasant broadcaster, he sounds quite old-style Radio 2 to me. He was talking this morning about kites. Actually I found it quite interesting and it led in well to the next piece - Tchaikovsky if I recall correctly - but it wasn't, say, any more formal than Monday to Friday. He also mentioned the phone in enthusiastically.
