Since I find both the current Radio 3 output and the discussion so infuriating I'd better just bow out - with an apology to you too.

I have made the points I wanted to make, several times, and eventually it gets frustrating to have to repeat them again. The "ambition" of the BBC is to get more people listening to Radio 3 and they aren't concerned these days about what it broadcasts. As long as it doesn't make heavy demands on its listeners.

On the odd occasions I stumble upon breakfast,essential classics or in tune (for a few seconds) I honestly can’t tell the difference between them and Classic FM other than the adverts (I’ve never tried Saga FM)

Just now we had two pieces which surely would never be played on Classic FM: something by Dallapiccola and one of Webern's Op. 14 songs (a setting of Trakl). All right, there was also The Wasps, but still.

Have you any idea what they’re on about in half of those trails? No we don’t want wall to wall anything but it’s good to have a wider mix - like on R2 or RCornwall - I don’t want wall to wall sixties music but I want some of it in the mix!

I presume, cloughers, your wider mix has Seth Lakeman but no Skellers, Skellers has Skellers and Seth Lakeman .......
