Probably means they got a paragraph in the Mississauga Gazette.

But does it say for what they are renowned?

These days of celebrity culture means you can be renowned just for being renowned.

There was a health warning from today’s presenter, inviting us to send some recorded sounds to Saturday’s presenter. I did wonder whether the sound of a group of yelping Jack Russell’s might fit the bill, but that would be too much like the EC follow-up game.

I could send her a recording of myself retuning to Lyric FM, which is what I do at 0700 on Saturday morning.

I cannot believe or comprehend the abomination that's on just now: why would anyone think to ruin an exquisite Ravelian movement!
                Apparently it was wonderfully skittish!

A few years ago, The Friends of Radio 3 accused R3 of becoming Radio 2.5.

Not so any more. It’s reached Radio 2.2 or thereabouts on Breakfast.

??? The Friend of Radio 3 wasn't/isn't a radio station. Or am I missing something?

I too have to admit to a level of confusion .......

                          Sorry - a typo. I’ll amend.

Looking at today's playlist, I can't find an Ivor Gurney song that I'm sure I heard; likewise there are items listed that I didn't hear - and I could have sworn I didn't doze off! I wonder if it takes a while for them to correct the playlist, as I assume the planned and the actual playlist differ slightly sometimes.

With all the commercial and local radio stations there is no need for radio 2 to be the bland 'slightly older pop' station that it has become -its radio 2 they should reform to cover classical cross-over and niche music - Radio 3 meanwhile is plummeting into a shallow, glib, shadow of it's former self. All the fake trendy enthusiasm makes me sick.

The Gurney song was 'I Will Go With My father A Ploughing'. It was played 45 minutes in immediately following the listener-contributed feature on church bells. Ian Bostridge was accompanied by Julius Drake. It was composed in 1921, setting words by the Irish poet Joseph Campbell.
