It wasn't so much the quantity as the over-excited tone with which they were introduced and, subsequently, recalled.

But today we had Camberwick Green, Dogtanian and the Three Muskethounds (segueing quite cleverly into the Vivaldi Gloria, but with, again, a great deal of hyperventilation about just how clever and funny it was), and The Clangers (preceded by some Boulez).

Although I do quite enjoy Dr Walker’s show on a Sunday morning.

My current motor is due for replacement in the autumn, my preferred replacement offers a CD player as an option at £100. And, as it goes, a spare wheel for £150. I’m aiming to order both !!

A wise decision on both counts, ts. Will it have a jack to go with the spare?

I could never do that. Listening to morning programmes on Radio 3 for more than a few minutes is too much of an ordeal.

I’m hoping that calm will be restored with the return of Petroc Trelawny next week.

I must ask one of these days whether his script has punctuation marks as I think observing those would help greatly with the gasping.
Seeing the reference #8221 to Clangers/Boulez, reminds me that an earlier children's programme reference was to the Noggin the Nog theme and its similarity to some Stockhausen piece.; certainly the segue was pretty seamless to my ears. I couldn't possibly comment however on the suggestion(on the basis of predating) that the Noggin was the inspiration for the Stockhausen.

She’s a broadcaster first and a classical music person second, that much is now apparent. One would hope there’s space in the format for the second to grow to rival the first, but it’s not her fault if not. I still say it’s an impossible job. I’d far rather listen to GM presenting than SK. But I totally understand listeners being peeved. I “turned over” this morning. To a streaming station fwiw. I wonder how the RAJAR figures break down by age group, but I’m not sure the kids tv theme thing is going to appeal to anyone under 50.

The fact that most of the male presenters don’t speak in punctuated sentences would suggest that this is just another stupid BBC directive. “Don’t pause at the end of sentences . The goldfish won’t understand and will switch off if there’s a brief silence. Keep going and breath anywhere else.
The problem with this hypothesis is that the women presenters, do manage to speak in correctly punctuated sentences.

If GM doesn't have basic classical music knowledge such as 'Boris Godunov' wasn't written by Tchaikovsky and that 'Blest Pair of Sirens' wasn't written by Edward Elgar it makes me wonder about the level of knowledge that R3 management think is needed to present the show. I think this extremely low-bar is an insult to listeners. Might as well get someone off the street to do it.
