Such relative timings are designed to allow the web data to be recycled with the program (maybe not Breakfast tho I suspect here the correct verb is regurgitated) but those like TTN which is merely a collection of 2 hour pre-recorded programmes to be selected at ramdom; CotW which seems to be recycled within a few months also indicated the use as the double daily dose is just a copy + paste exercise. I guess the next approach is to follow the American model of 10min slots with automated advert insertions

one hour 39 minutes after 6:30am, so the little hand will be between ............ and the big hand ..........

The set-up seems to be for iPlayer/LA listeners who will find it easier to slide through to the tracks/songs they want, rather than anyone wanting to look beforehand. This way the iPlayer calculations have already been fed in to the system to save time and effort.

They seem to have taken to publishing the list twice, but the formula 'Gabriel (1845-1924) Faure' seems to mark the point where the list begins again. For those for whom the presenter is the deciding factor as to whether they listen or not, big, clear announcement at the top of the page.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Thank you for the link, as a former listener to this programme, I gave up finally about 2 years ago, it was instructive to see how unmusical it has become, just a random hotptch of unrelated movements, no planning , no feeling for music, goodness 4minutes Victoria followed by 5 minutes Kreisler .

And in the gradualist style of Radio 3, the number of single movements is increasing.

One can just imagine the segue: "That was Victoria; and now music from a Victorian (sic)".

Has anyone seen the double CD issued though the Radio Times? It's to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee and contains nearly all the usual suspects, err items of music. So you buy this and no need to worry about the radio. Jupiter, the Lark, the Arrival of the QoS, the cuckoo,Nimrod,etc.etc.

                We are being brainwashed

Does it carry the double Royal endorsement of SM-P and PT, 'your call' appointment?

This morning's doubled Breakfast playlist, informs us that the 1st piece was by Louis Couperin and then when the list is doubled below the 1st piece is now by Francois Couperin! What a shambles, is R3 staffed by a load of rejects from 'The Apprentice'? (Might explain the regular Dance of the Knights broadcasts)

I can hardly read it- nothing like as clear as the old schedules to me. And still those 'performers' - even the organ of St Paul's performs independently of the organist.

I've just tested my listings program to see how it copes with the new format. The news is not good, I'm afraid. Manually editing out all the extraneous text is out of the question, and the Breakfast and ES lists are totally lost (no bad thing?)

I'm afraid I'll have to take a deep breath before I decide whether to adjust the program rather than abandoning it, which seems the easiest course.....

Oh, dear, that's bad news after all the work you've put into it .

I've found it very useful for searching back, but if there's a horrendous amount of work involved in adjusting it, it will be your decision whether it's worth it or not. Roehre and I have been extremely grateful to you up to now.

Bit like the programmes on 3 as a whole - if it wasn't broken why did they fix it?

OK though if you are short of coasters.
