The Beethoven Mandolin Sonatina was worth hearing (it used to be the theme to World Service's "Good Books")

We live in the age of the Presenter. Over Tv and most radio , they have pushed themselves to the front in a plague of hubris engendered by their resentment at anyone else being ithe limelight: one ,ight callit a victory of style over content.
'It's my show!' shouted Jane Garvey silencing a guest on Woman's Hour who dared to disagree with her. Inevitably this has spilled over into Radio 3, amd while I accept what anton says about the focus of Radio3 I do feel that more and more we're feeling that what we hear is steered and shaped by the person who controls (hogs?)the microphone.
We all have our likes and dislikes. I've spoken up for EA when others criticise her, but I have to say I don't have the high opinion of TMcK others display.

Well, there is a bit of that, maybe, but it reminds me of the 'Blue Peter ' style announcements on Virgin Trains, where the three voices (carefully selected to include one woman and one ethnic minority person) each had a line to say . I regard it as just one more nuisance of this crazy century: cheer up, only 75 more years to go.
