But I do believe that based on a number of factors, R3 is fighting for its life and the management/BBC view is that ANY life is better than NO life. Other opinions available.

'Do you want a dumbed-down Radio 3 or no Radio 3?' Permitted answers don't apparently include 'Neither, thanks'.

Good grief: a whole piece on Breakfast just now.
Anton will have been doubly pleased, as it was by Finzi.

        Gerald Finzi
        Eclogue Op.10
Performer: Peter Donohoe. Orchestra: Royal Northern Sinfonia. Conductor: Howard Griffiths.
        NAXOS.

Thank you for the heads up Pulcers … indeed one of my very favourite pieces …. Given my eccentric listening schedule I won’t get to it for a fortnight …… but I could always have a little listen as I do my morning tasks ….

Great to hear SMP on breakfast this morning. A very welcome if temporary return

I'm assuming that her late evening slot isn't live - burning the candle at both ends isn't good for a body.

Absolutely - and followed by 'Skellers' on Essential Classics (to which I would not normally listen).

... did Sara Mohr-Pietsch refer to ( and play) a piece by Anton Reicha on this Monday morning's programme?

Or did I dream it?? - no sign of it on the BBC webpage for Breakfast...

                    .

                        .
She played one movement of a composition by Reicha, but I'm afraid I can't remember what it was even though I enjoyed it. I don't know why it's not included in the playlist.

I think you're right about missing bits of the listings.
I definitely heard some Telemann, that was new to me, while getting breakfast ready - and it's not listed either.
Found it... ~51:40 Telemann The Giants of Brobdingnagische Gigue.
... and the finale of Reicha's Octet ~1:18:34 played by Consortium Classicum (after Brideshead & before the Elizabethan Serenade).

There was a Telemann concerto for 3 oboes on TTN this morning, while I was having my breakfast!

That was at 4:31 (or 5:31 in old money?)

I'll catch up on TTN later - thanks for pointing him out.

Was that the piece that had some link or other to Sweelink? I wasn't listening fully at that point.
