Lovemaking to the slow movement of Bax Symphony No 6. Luckily it was an automatic record player.
No jumping stylus problems, S_A ?
I was up earlier than usual today, and tried Breakfast from around 7.30. How can this stuff be broadcast? News every 15 minutes self-consciously delivered in meaningless simplified form, time for a short piece then more chat.
On with the recording of last night's Through the Night (recording one a week keeps one supplied for the waking hours), starting with Chausson's 'Concert' for violin, piano and string quartet... Absolutely gorgeous, good tasty French roughage for the morning, you know it makes sense, eh Vinteuil?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Though I see that it has morphed into the large scale "Concerto" for Vn, PF & Strings. Hadn't noticed the presence of an orchestra in previous auditions.
I was going to mention the superfluous 'o' but couldn't be bothered this early. In fact John Shea addresses the topic of the piece's title in his intro.
Now on to Sibelius 6, bliss - is there a better morning piece?
Bye bye Petroc.

Well ...since you were kind enough to ask - Mozart's 'Kegelstatt' Trio K498.
Sorry that your earlier optimism regarding Radio 3's revamped breakfast-time fare wasn't justified. Still, I enjoy reading other members' reports of what I've missed.

Me too. I think. However, I rather like the new routine of scoping out the week's best Through the Night, and decanting all 6 hours onto an SD card for listening in the waking hours...

Looking at the R3 Facebook page just now someone has posted to Petroc: I think you missed your vocation as a pop picker for TOTP hey Smashie?
To which Petroc replied 3 hours ago: I channel Alan Freeman every time I see the new specialist chart ...
With some recent very early starts I had determined to plough on with Breakfast but I'm afraid couldn't face it so it was back to good old R4 and Today.

After PT had done that appalling 'Yurr ... coming rite up in the nerxt ow-err of B-on-3' business with the bleeding chunks I swear he gave a big wink and beamed a Colgate ring-of-confidence smile.

Is your reference to Sibelius 6 the Symphony, or are you so tired of Petroc's voice and repeated popular classics that you are writing your own music on the Sibelius 6 software.
An early start so have had Breakfast on since 6.30am, it's now coming up to 8.00am and so far, apart from the news, there seems to have been no waffle and I haven't heard a single request for people to tweet or email and no mention of the Charts. Perhaps Petroc has taken note of the adverse comments?
