Anyway, its fine, some isms are ok, some aren't. Just depends which newspaper you read.
That doesn’t mean they can forget the 65 to 75s!

Kicking and screaming, because it was a government imposition.

What's the point of making radio completely free but not offering much to listen to?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

The Breakfast programmes I go out of my way to listen to are the Martin Handley weekend programmes - his manner, and the choice of music (by him or his team - I'd love to know the actual dynamic of who chooses what) are much more appealing/interesting than my recollection of "Breakfast" programmes in the past... I do now systematically download the Handley morning programmes to the iPad and use them for day-time listening when the live offering isn't for me.

... if all that it takes is for a presenter to mention a place dear to us for us then to forgive all - gawd 'elp us.

That might not be everybody's view - other stations are available as they say. However if you were to substitute 'TV' and 'watch' for 'radio' and 'listen to' I would be inclined to agree - but still probably wrong as that's just my opinion of current output.

I was speaking for myself, no one else. I may get radio entirely free, but it's not much of an advantage if I don't want to listen to Radio 1, 2, 6 Music &c. and Radio 3 alternates between some items that are very good and others which are so irritating as to be unbearable. And it's not so easy to predict which will be which - except the most popular times for listening to the radio (the mornings) are uniformly … not the kind of … thing … I find interesting.

After Q2, Radio 3's researchers pointed out that the station had had 4 quarters in a row which failed to reach 2m and the last quarter made it 5 in a row. So the Contents aren't as numerous as they were. Possibly for the reasons that have been well rehearsed, here and elsewhere.

                          Maybe not for much longer.

On the contrary, you are part of an articulate, informed and intelligent community here, a large number of whom feel exactly the way you do.
