They played Gordon Langford's Rhapsody on Sea Shanties a couple of days ago for brass band. Very nice!

Ye gods! So they did! Breakfast presenters desperate to be liked? Probably not, with the second worst singer of the 20th century along with the weakest string instrument. It's replaced the recorder in many schools, not because it sounds better, but because its feeble noise can be less damaging when played badly. Unfortunately, it isn't much better when it's played well.

Glad I got that of my chest!

If the Radio 2.4 (it's going down gradually) team want to play an interesting stringed instrument, why don't we hear more of this?

The day before, if I heard correctly, he was prattling on about GF being the Queen's favourite "turn" but they would of course never play him on R3 ........

Formby's house Beryldene with its blue plaque is just a couple of miles from where I am sitting now. Ooh, mother!
Has it got a wash house out the back?

GF wanted to play that but his arms weren't long enough! But EA whose was the worst C20th voice?

Didn't you know that Formby didn't live in a back to back terrace. Maybe it's just your vision of a northern stereotype from Formby's heyday or getting his film character mixed up with the real person. I can assure you that 'Beryldene' is dead posh with no outside bog! Overlooking the sea too!

Georgia Mann has popped up on Ao3.

The trail she did today with KD for In Tune was just awful.

I was going to say childish, but that would be unfair on children.

                        I turned off.

What! A needing a window cleaner with all that rain blowing in off the Irish Sea! Evidently George was extremely careful with money so he might have liked to clean them himself. My father might have even seen him up that ladder chamois leather in hand!
