Looking back at Monday's playlist I see no Cornish music there, so no reference to St Piran's Day. The Squire was not in the studio driving seat so Cornwall ignored yet again - what a London-centric station it is, largely!

Oh no it is not! Even though the Animals were brilliant, and there were few better keyboard players than Pricey back them!
Our choirs and singing groups are great to hear and be part of!

Today - 08.00 to 0.830 there has been precisely 5 minutes of music and 25 minutes of talk, the occasional bird warble and the sound of wind blowing across a bridge.
            Riveting.
            Not.

That's the spirit of free thinking....
Given the theme/focus of this weekend's output it is inevitable that there will be more chat - how much of the verbalising is of value is another matter.
I rather like the weekly bird recordings and waiting to hear what music will follow them.

I thought R3 was supposed to be a classical music station ? just had some substandard guitar stuff and a folk song . What is happening to this station ?

                    “Free Thinking”.

I can’t even begin to fathom what that entails or could mean.

Does Private Eye still run Pseuds Corner?

That may be its raison d'etre but does that mean that no other kind of music can feature? At all? Ever?

I would have thought one non classical piece an hour in a non- specialist programme is plenty . These days I reckon it's at least three ....

And on the subject of Free Thinking , or Three Finking as it should be called I haven't heard a single original thought yet ...

Johann Strauss II Voices of Spring (at least they've stopped calling him Johann Sebastian Strauss)
JS Bach BWV 974 (one movement) played by your uncle
Fast forward to RVW Serenade to Music (oops, surely some mistake - it looks like the whole thing; still under 15 minutes)
A couple of Geordie songs, because we're in Gateshead
                                Fast backward to Telemann
Bizet, Rautavaara, Schubert D899/3, Waxman (ooh, Carmen Fantasy - nice), another bit of another Bach, Britten, another bit of folk followed by Wolfgang Amadeus, triumphantly topped by B Herrman's North by Northeast Northwest

I can't be the only person, surely, who can't cope with this, I think the phrase is pot pourri - with the emphasis on the pourri. I don't understand the point of listening to it.

[Huge apology for 'slagging off' the damn programme again)
You really shouldn't punish yourself so ff we will let you know if anything changes ......
