Who is this .... ??? Where is Clemmers .... ??? Do I recognise the newsreader at least .... ????
Just caught some of "Georgia" ... I like her! Who is she? She can stay!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
I think they said his name was Ian Skelly (?), anton

Well I thought she, Georgina Mann, was very good - had a great 'microphone' voice. But why, if CBH is ill and Ian Skelly is there to read the news, doesn't he do the whole programme? What does he do between news (answers on a postcard please!)?

I've always found it bizarre that they get someone separate in to 'do the news' - esp. when it's one of the presenters. Why on earth can't the presenter of the programme read out the silly bite-sized headlines?!
Anyway, on about 10 minutes' listening, Georgia was a massive improvement on the ailing "Clemmie / Clemmy"

Ah yes, that Ian Skelly keeps reappearing as a Great Favourite. And so he should. Music, news, weather, he can handle it all with wit, intelligence and aplomb. How different many of the others are. Especially the dreaded KD. Her constant gabbling, giggling, gurning, guffawing, and painful cod-foreign mispronunciations are enough to drive one to drink. Even at this hour. Cheers.
Totally agree DaisyDog. And cheers to you - off to Germany for a few days so will be enjoying some glüewein and hopefully will be let loose again the lovely three manual organ in the medieval church of Enger.
I think GM is primarily a producer. She's been on Breakfast before. I didn't hear whether she stepped in at short notice perhaps? I think she's great and deserves a proper run.

Yes, CBH was ill. You're right, she was on Breakfast at least once before. She's surely a better bet than bussing people in from other stations.
