Crowcatcher
One of the things I like about Skellers, amongst all of his other virtues, is that he speaks English, as opposed to the Corporate American b*****it of "targeting their focuses across the key agenda issues" of certain of the others.
I sometime wonder if I'm the only one who notices just how bad the BBC's (and most others') English has become!

Originally posted by ahinton View PostI do, too, although a really good authentic Cornish pasty is certainly not something at which to scoff (if you'll pardon the expression); indeed, a Cornishman of my acquaintance describes it as a prime example of haute cuisine de Cornouaille (which is perhaps a pity because Cornouaille's in Brittany!), best sampled with a Cornish pinot noir (such as Black Ewe from Trevibban Mill near Padstein)...

Giggles all round at his oblique avoidance of the T word, with references to many people being surprised that morning by... the quantity of rain overnight
or shocked by... the reduction in the number of lumps in a Toblerone bar
Also loved his introduction to a piece by "perhaps the greatest of the many great composers from Little Rock, Arkansas"
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
