Afraid I only caught short moments of it (morning household interruptions). The Chorus sounded good, well in particular a very uniform and acceptable sound - so I was concerned to get the details of the performers as I'd like to hear that again. It was Handley and the RLPO/Chorus.

Bring back the dancing actress Katie Derham that's what I say! And before anyone says she's not an actress you just had to see her TV antics and expressions on Strictly Come Dancing 2015 to see that if she's not she should be.

well I heard the chorus-only versionIt isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

This morning we had another example of the jaunty cheapness of this beloved programme.
A request had been received from someone describing his reaction to the first time he had heard Mahler's 1st Symphony. He said: "It was like listening to the birth of music itself." So far, so good; an appropriate description, one might think, of the symphony's opening.
But - oh no! CB-H gave us the ever-so-jolly CFMish scherzo.
