Yesterday at the request of our leader I analysed a CBH (standing in for Tree Lawn) Breakfast - I don't know if the total results are to be published but I have to say the findings(?) slightly surprised me. Anyway the Cardiff Presenter of the Year is back and seems all about the voice - Danny Boy and Deanna Durbin. The eternal question presenter or producer or a scary mix of both??
Really missed the programme last week while away, so to make up I thought I might do a request and taking into account the thread I was going to ask for "Fings Ain't Wot They Used T'be" now would it be the cast version or perhaps the Max Bygraves version ???? . Now what would cause the greater meltdown , you guys are brilliant its just like Uncle Mort meets Rigsby ( for those who need assistance that is a reference to to a radio series and also a Television series, I understand that television is quiet popular these days they even broadcast in the morning)

We love you, too, Roger.
(Oh, and it's "quite popular", by the way, and "it's just like Uncle Mort" [although Ed Reardon is more accurate] - dictionaries not popular these days?)

I watch a bit of BBC Breakfast TV most mornings - yes we have it even down here! Like much of R3 Breakfast a lot of it could be better!
PS They should bring back Uncle Mort but Robin Bailey would be difficult to replace - any suggestions?

Did Peter Skellern take on the Carter role in a later series?
Skellern played Carter in North Country. In South Country and Celtic Fringe the role was taken by Sam Kelly. Uncle Mort was voiced by Stephen Thorne in the Radio 4 series.
Were my ears playing up - again - this morning or did I hear a Britten piece that, I think, Tree Lawn said was written for the marriage of the Earl of Harwood? No mention as yet on the playlist. What is there is what was, IMVVHO, a lovely composition by Rebecca Clarke played early doors.

You did indeed, Anton. 'Fraid I didn't listen too closely, it being Britten and all, and it was interrupted by Radio Newcastle traffic news, which was, frankly, more interesting!

There was a pleasant sounding choral work around 8.20 which I missed the announcement on. Must check the playlist later.

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
