New Years Resolution. To stop swearing at the Breakfast prog.. Switched on at 8.10 this morning. By 8.30 couldn't take anymore. Switched off. Ah well, another New Year Resolution out of the window.

Same here. I didn't make the resolution, and I don't often swear at the radio, but I understand completely why you would do so. I generally confine myself to hurling abuse at the presenter before going over to a CD.Money can't buy you happiness............but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery - Spike Milligan

I have long thought that there should be some sort of feedback mechanism for both TV and radio, so that broadcasters on both would know when a programme was being turned off because of unacceptable content. That would be good, wouldn't it?Money can't buy you happiness............but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery - Spike Milligan

I find it useful to get me out of bed in the morning. Once TTN is over I am up pretty quickly. The idea of feedback would be good but I am sure that R3 would argue that the numbers of tweet, text messages, emails and call ins with request validate the current format. I don't agree with it and restrict my breakfast listening to Saturday and Sunday, if MH is presenting.

In fact the only two surviving BBC messageboards appear to be the PoV boards for 'telelevision' and 'radio'. I don't think any comments posted there are likely to reach the right ears!It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

When I think of the weekly Breakfast, I am reminded of an Are You Being Served show. Mrs Slocombe was having a Birthday and one of her gifts was the complete recordings of Lena Zavaroni (I am not sure of the spelling) when asked why the recording she replied that playing the singer was the only way to get her Tiddles her pussy to go out in the rain.......Last edited by Guest; 03-01-15, 14:17.
