New Years Resolution. To stop swearing at the Breakfast prog.. Switched on at 8.10 this morning. By 8.30 couldn't take anymore. Switched off. Ah well, another New Year Resolution out of the window.

ever considered just not switching it on in first place? - the damage inflicted by Wodger 'wrecker' Wright to R3 will I suspect never be repaired.

Same here. I didn't make the resolution, and I don't often swear at the radio, but I understand completely why you would do so. I generally confine myself to hurling abuse at the presenter before going over to a CD.

Yep - that was the approach resorted to here during 2014. Kept giving them a chance but perpetual disappointment makes for a bad start to the day and a most indigestible breakfast.

I have long thought that there should be some sort of feedback mechanism for both TV and radio, so that broadcasters on both would know when a programme was being turned off because of unacceptable content. That would be good, wouldn't it?

I find it useful to get me out of bed in the morning. Once TTN is over I am up pretty quickly. The idea of feedback would be good but I am sure that R3 would argue that the numbers of tweet, text messages, emails and call ins with request validate the current format. I don't agree with it and restrict my breakfast listening to Saturday and Sunday, if MH is presenting.

See my announcement about the new FoR3 survey. It WILL be useful to tell R3 that people turn off because of the presentation (in its widest sense).

In fact the only two surviving BBC messageboards appear to be the PoV boards for 'telelevision' and 'radio'. I don't think any comments posted there are likely to reach the right ears!
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I don't know about the right ears. The problem with R3, especially Breakfast and Essential Classics, is deaf ears, which explains much of their choice of music. Or should that be Musak?

When I think of the weekly Breakfast, I am reminded of an Are You Being Served show. Mrs Slocombe was having a Birthday and one of her gifts was the complete recordings of Lena Zavaroni (I am not sure of the spelling) when asked why the recording she replied that playing the singer was the only way to get her Tiddles her pussy to go out in the rain.......
