Good opener Don, I may have to relax the rules to allow limericks.
I hadn't thought of it as a limerick. It was meant to be a parody of the opening of 'Oh, my name is John Wellington Wells ...' from The Sorcerer.

Well, I shall not attempt poetry. Just say I think Yanneen Yansen is not the usual pronunciation.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Cheating a bit, but here's my offering:

        I'm the giggling Clemmie Burton-Hill
and my voice gives Radio64 his early morning thrill
I invite you to write, call, text and tweet
'bout what your cat does in the morning and what it likes to eat.

I ask you with me round the room to dance
and email me what you've been up to on holiday in France
but when it comes to giving you the all the key and important facts
you'll find that knowledge of music is something my brain totally lacks.

It's correct. She's Dutch. But it's not usually spoken that way ( bit like the frog place, Paree.)

No, it isn't spoken that way. She is Dutch, but every pronunciation I've checked said Zhanine, including one where she was wandering in Paree with Richard Bugnon and he addressed her as Zh-anine.

Pronny gives you the right pronunciation of important names belonging to the major languages of the world. Click on the language or on the category, or type the name in the Search box, then click and listen. Names of important persons, places, things etc. are listed.

(Steven Isserlis says she gave him a lesson!)

              Day after day,
              Clemency Hill,
The Girl with the gorgeous grin is keeping AMAZINGLY still
But everybody wants to know her
They can see that she's not really a fool,
And she always gives an answer,

But the girl on the hill,
              Sees the sun going down,er..up...
And the eyes in her head,
              See the discs spinning 'round.

              Well on the way,
              Head in a data cloud,
The girl of a thousand voices talking perfectly loud
But nobody (from the forum) ever hears her,
or the sounds she appears to make,
and she never seems to notice,

              But the Clemency hill,
Sees the sun going down,er up...
And the eyes in her head,
See the INCREDIBLE discs spinning 'round.

And the guests seem to like her,
they can tell what she wants to do,
and she always shows her feelings,

              Ooh, ooh,
              Round and round and round.

And she always listens to them,(honest)
SHe knows that they're the fools
They don't, er DO like her,

              The Clemency B hill
Sees the sun going down,er up
And the eyes in her head,
              See the discs spinning 'round.

With apologies to the fab four, and Radio 64.

I'm sure she is lovely really.

An absolutely remarkable performance especially for a POETS....

ps By the way, my wife has been completing a Rajar diary and got a crisp fiver for offering to do ir online. We got a bag of Tesco curry and entered the maximum for Breakfast & Essential Classics to keep Rog happy... (not quite true!)

May I wearily predict that The Thunder and Lightning Polka will be played (not just tweeted) on Breakfast any time now?

Anyway, another bit for doggerel corner:

                    The BBC management thrill
To the sound of Ms Clemency Hill.
                    So eager to choose her,
                    Not wanting to lose her,
They insist that she stays on the pill.

Well, thanks for your contribution anyway. Possibly a brother(?) was also mentioned as a performer: Jan Jansen (pronounced 'Yan Yansen'), which I assumed to be correct, so I didn't mention it. You may not be able to 'see that Janine should be any different', but it is, whether you care or not. I thought three examples, including a well-known musician saying he'd been told by the lady herself how to pronounce it, would be enough evidence, even for a sceptic.

as Janine is the Dutch version, and pronounced as such, of the French Jeanine

I returned from putting out the rubbish just now to hear the strains of the last movement of same (Mrs T had surreptitiously tuned in to Breakfast). CB-H completely mangled Aranjuez, I couldn't begin to render her version phonetically .

PS do you mean to say that KD played it on 4.7 ? That was less than 3 weeks ago! Perhaps it was a different movement BTW I switched back to Today

Clemmy played a really loooong piece on the Classical Chart on Friday (just catching up via podcast). You folks should be happy!
