Yes, and no mention of local radio's finest cheese-monger, Tom McKinney. I believe he was the one who described the atmosphere at a Mozart concert as 'buzzin'.
He is, it seems, a serious classical guitarist, self-described: "He enjoys spending time in Ladbrokes and writing biographical entries about himself in a third-person voice." Which suggests - not necessarily that it is true - but ... ?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Makes me wonder how a "flippant" classical guitarist enjoys spending time?

I agree with all said about the presenter. They haven't posted the playlist. I actually really enjoyed the Buxtehude played but haven't been able to find a recording. Do any of the board members know this work or remember which cantata was played.
I think Clemency is a very pretty name. But "Clemmy", as she is routinely addressed by Sarah Walker, is IMHO absolutely revolting!
Too close to "Clammy"...?
As a child actress she performed under the name of "Clemmie Burton-Hill" in films and on radio. She is also listed under this name for an episode of "Midsomer Murders" in 2004.
"... it's the only thing to look forward to, the past" la la la....
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
I accidentally caught the end of Breakfast today and was struck in the same way. Please will someone pass me a bucket. : horror:.
At least on this occasion she didn't thank me for keeping her company.
Interesting how "Clemency" has now officially morphed into "Clemmy". She calls herself "Clemmy" and Rob thanked "Clemmy" for her programme. Does anyone suspect a missive handed down to the effect that "Clemency" sounded er...too elitist...and she needed to get more "in tune" with the audience (not that R3 has any idea who their audience is these days)?

I now do R4 or Five Live in the early morning so am beyond the reach of this familiarity, but didn't Winston Churchill call his wife, Clementine, "Clemmie"?

He did, but between family and friends it's appropriate.
