A moment ago an announcer said "Ambiance classique' and the music started again. Currently playing the Radetzky March (following Handel's Royal Fireworks). Each piece seem to last about 3 mins or so.
May depend on the time of day (or more than one stream)? I think we've normally heard complete works, with brief introductions, on RDS radio.

I must confess I have never heard of this "ambiance" title, FF. But on the home page, if you click on "grille des programmes", you will get a schedule of programmes, but it doesn't look like you can see a playlist. I haven't listened to Radio Classique for a long time, but if it is playing pieces of 3 minutes or so, then I would say it is surely a bit like Classic FM!

Radio Classique is playing longer pieces, and the selection sounds more enterprising - currently Mzt PC 23, though only the first movement. Someone announced 'Radio Classique' in a seductive voice before it began.

It sounds a cut above 'Ambiance' , which is currently playing Peer Gynt Suite No1. That playlist only lists what's playing atm and the most recent pieces. Oops - Marriage of Figaro - the aria Figaro sings to Cherubino when he's being sent away to join the army. You don't seem to get the names of the performers ...
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I was confusing you and MickyD as to whether I was talking about Radio Classique or Ambiance, I think. Ambiance has the very short pieces, rather more familiar. Classique is not quite so CFM-ish, but I still haven't heard any presentation (it's currently playing Boyce.

Update: Announcer à la TTN came on gave brief details of the Boyce.

You will find that programmes during the day on Radio Classique are presenter-led, with news bulletins, articles etc...I think it is only the late night offerings which are music only.
