Does anyone have the dates for these broadcasts? I'd like to make the effort to listen because I only know a handful of his operas.
All Verdi Operas to be broadcast in 2013

I'm wondering just how worthwhile an exercise this is? Verdi, perhaps by his own admission, turned out a lot of not very distinguished/distinctive stuff during his 'galley years' and things like Alzira and Un Giorno de Regno are probably not what he'd have chosen to be remembered by. If Wagner had had a long stretch composing stuff along the lines of Die Feen and Das Liebesverbot, would we feel any great compulsion to listen to it? I think not.....

Rocester apparently, based on an existing libretto by Antonio Piazza. I am tempted to follow this series as it is on paper more appealing to me than the previous marathons. To be blunt, they weren't appealing to me at all. Whether I have the stamina for it, time - and further education - will tell. Incidentally, R3 will be broadcasting every opera by Wagner - and Britten - during 2013.

Incidentally, I've just taken delivery of a doorstop of a set, called Tutto Verdi:
It contains all 26 of his operas, plus the Requiem, on DVD/ Blu-ray. Actually, Molto Verdi would be a more accurate title, as Jérusalem and Aroldo (significant rewrites of I Lombardi and Stiffelio respectively) aren't included. I reviewed the first eight titles, released independently, in January's issue of IRR.Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise....
