Will she also be given a "contemporary twist" like the production?

It's a very odd cast list. Aren't there any singers?

It took me an act and a half to swallow the school setting then the singing seduced me: lovely stuff. I had never heard the complete opera but found it easy to follow even though at times in the early stages it was like an operatic version of Lindsay Anderson's If. The OAE were fabulous athough Ottavio Datone (the conductor) sounded as heavy as Wanda Landowska on the harpsichord.

            All of the above, Chris.

I would have greatly enjoyed this if it had been a concert performance. As it was, the dreary and infantile production destroyed my enjoyment of it. Chris, I am glad you got to accept it after an act and a half. I am afraid I couldn't wait for it to end.
