OOH! Fantastic. Many thanks, Belgrove. The BBC have produced a stinker of a Christmas this year.

May I add my thanks too. Hope I can get it on my dodgy laptop.

        What a treat!

And I see that Wolfgang Ablinger-Sperrhacke is singing The Witch. He was the most stunning Mime in Opera North's production of Das Rheingold that I saw in Leeds, a tremendous acting tenor

He was a hoot two years ago when they did Hansel & Gretel at the Proms. And he really sings the role. So often both men or women witches ham it up vocally. A taster?....

The impressive Wolfgang Ablinger-Sperrhacke as freaky witch in Humperdinck's "Hänsel und Gretel"Glyndebourne Festival, England

Thank you - since there is always some great fat simpering woman in rompers pretending to be Hansel that may provide a modicum of balance.

It was a Christmas treat that well and truly met my expectations. I have two DVDs of Hansel und Gretel already but am sorely tempted.

Exactly as was the case with the Turn of the Screw, members may use the "Flash Video Downloader" Fire-Fox extension to retain a valuable permanent record of this event.

In order to obviate "glitches" it is advisable to re-"boot" the computer and restart one's "mo-dem" prior to the attempt.
