    Oropesa is sensational!
She is a total star - so sorry I had to return a ticket because I was awaiting a PCR result.

She was fantastic in Rigoletto as well.
"I do not approve of anything that tampers with natural ignorance. Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit; touch it and the bloom is gone. The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately in England, at any rate, education produces no effect whatsoever. If it did, it would prove a serious danger to the upper classes, and probably lead to acts of violence in Grosvenor Square."

After the broadcast, Danielle J, on continuity () played a couple of Mozart tracks from a new CD of her, with Antonello Manacorda, the same conductor as ROH broadcast: top quality performances.

I didn't catch all of the conversation between acts, but Georgia was interviewing her about the role. After the curtain, during final credits, Georgia was making enthusiastic noises about Oropesa's psychological understanding and charactersation of Violetta... and some remark about her being the best Violetta arouund (I paraphrase wildly).
