Feel free to move this to another related thread. It was sad to read in the Times that the RFH may not re-open till next April possibly later and possibly not at all. I guess all large concert and opera venues face the same problem - an audience whose demographic means that , even with lockdown being eased in the future , many will be very understandably be reluctant to sit in a packed audience. I wonder if the solution might be a combination of increased public subsidy with cheap or even free tickets for the under 35's (who run very little risk) and with digital tv subscriptons for the over 60's . There might have to be some imaginative re postitioning of the orchestra - perhaps putting the wood wind and brass in the choir and spacing out the strings. There might also have to be some furloughing of vulnerable players with health conditions . Of course if the case numbers pick up again even this cautious approach would be unworkable.
