ROCG 'Fidelio' due to be broadcast on BBC4 - date not yet fixed as far as I know, but scheduled.
Actually, according to the BBC4 site, it's a bit more than just a relay:
"Fidelio was commissioned by Head of BBC Music TV Commissioning, Jan Younghusband, for Cassian Harrison, Controller BBC Four"
- ......so eat your heart out, Theater an der Wien - BBC 4's Jan Younghusband was way ahead of you!!Last edited by DracoM; 26-03-20, 11:48.

Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit; touch it and the bloom is gone. The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately in England, at any rate, education produces no effect whatsoever. If it did, it would prove a serious danger to the upper classes, and probably lead to acts of violence in Grosvenor Square."

Just to note that this (Fidelio) is to be shown on BBC4 tomorrow night at 9:00, after the repeated John Wilson prom. Really looking forward to this as I wasn't able to get to the Opera House, and the cinema relay was cancelled."I do not approve of anything that tampers with natural ignorance. We went on 1st March and will certainly be watching. What looks like being our last opera outing for quite a while. Sunday 3pm start. This allowed a lady sitting next to us in the Amphitheatre to take in the performance as a day trip from Dublin. A worthwhile experience with some weirdnesses in the staging, especially Act II.
