I discovered this only the other day, and agree - and beautifully supported by the Philharmonia under Salonen.

David Butt Philip on for Kaufmann again tonight. Lots of tickets available. Lots now also available for Tuesday, even though Kaufmann hasn't (yet) cancelled that one. Presumably the virus is now also a factor.

The Met have cancelled this Saturday’s Flying Dutchman and in consequence the cinema relay.

ROCG 'Fidelio' due to be broadcast on BBC4 - date not yet fixed as far as I know, but scheduled.

Actually, according to the BBC4 site, it's a bit more than just a relay:

"Fidelio was commissioned by Head of BBC Music TV Commissioning, Jan Younghusband, for Cassian Harrison, Controller BBC Four"
          - ......so eat your heart out, Theater an der Wien - BBC 4's Jan Younghusband was way ahead of you!!

As the final performance before the lockdown was filmed as the backup for the scheduled cinema relay (which was cancelled), the BBC should be able to go ahead with the broadcast. I suspect a later blu-ray release might be in a more doubt as Kaufmann had dropped out by then.

Just to note that this (Fidelio) is to be shown on BBC4 tomorrow night at 9:00, after the repeated John Wilson prom. Really looking forward to this as I wasn't able to get to the Opera House, and the cinema relay was cancelled.

We went on 1st March and will certainly be watching. What looks like being our last opera outing for quite a while. Sunday 3pm start. This allowed a lady sitting next to us in the Amphitheatre to take in the performance as a day trip from Dublin. A worthwhile experience with some weirdnesses in the staging, especially Act II.
