The performance was superb and I enjoyed much more than I thought I would and the interval (Martin Handley interviewing Jane Glover) was a million miles away from a chat between the presenter and a guest.

I wonder what came over Radio 3 to put on an opera for such an ultra minority interest. If I were paying a license fee just for Radio 3, I would be happy to have had this week alone, with the Composer of the Week, the Jordi Savall concert, and this. The problem is/was my wood burning boiler nearly went out.
