    Glyndebourne Saul Screening

Just completed an opera appreciation course and am slowly finding my feet again in the genre.
When there were jobs I had a friend in the office who was Friend of Covent Garden and used to go to everything. If she couldn't make it she used to give me her ticket in exchange for a bit of extra filing. Well, that was then ...

I found this performance accessible, immensely enjoyable and would recommend it to anybody trying to get in to or returning to opera . It is vibrant, colourful, lively and the acting is superb. And freeee Almost. Available via Telegraph online until 2 August.

Looking forward to Barber's Vanessa when it comes round.
And the tune ends too soon for us all

Wimped out of this last night as it was a 7:30 start and would have been a very long evening, but looking forward to Vanessa (tickets already bought).

I think it's still available for online viewing here - https://www.glyndebourne.com/tickets...18/watch-saul/ up to the 2nd of August.

Yes, the OP did say! But my screen is a bit small...

Can I make a general request: if there's something really exciting coming up, it would be really helpful if you could post about it before the event!

Saul is really exciting, and it's still on at Glyndebourne until 25th August. I've not seen the 2015 version - but the current live performances are splendid.

You could buy a bigger TV.

Don't think that would be any good, as when I enlarge the YouTube image on my moderate size computer screen it gets bigger, but more blurred.

I wonder if the Telegraph link is better...
