I read courtesy of the Bayreuth Festival that Manfred Jung died on 14th April. Watching the Boulez Ring again last year I was struck by his characterful portrayal of Siegfried.

He's on a very good Gurrelieder recording I have conducted by Herbert Kegel. Coincidentally, another fine soloist on this disc, Rosmarie Lang, died only a few weeks ago.
