I see that there will also be the option of viewing a 'conductor-cam' of Farnes throughout the entire Ring. Good material for students!

It would get good audience figures but, I'm guessing, it would be expensive - too expensive for a 'minority' channel like BBC4. The Good Old Days repeats (where most of the performers are deceased) are probably cheap as chips.

Blimey, this is incredible. What a privilege to watch a master conductor at work with what economy and expression. Reminded me of Boult on the recently reissued Gerontius; not a wasted gesture.

Amazing !!! Thank you for sharing this.
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
            Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

There are, err, ways around that, but it's in contravention of the terms and conditions for iPlayer usage.

Indeed - and I think these "ways" should be set out clearly, simply, and in detail on the Forum, so that we all know exactly what we should avoid doing.

It's like Gardener's Question Time when they say "we're not allowed to tell you that if you spray so-and-so onto your potatoes etc it will cure..."

Of course this "conductor cam" was the view being used by the performers - you can actually see the screens to each side in the distance. When I saw Rheingold in Leeds I thought at first that they were reading the lyrics from screens at the back, such was their concentration in that direction (and my disbelief that anyone could learn so much off by heart).

                    Incredible music!

Don't forget it starts on BBC FOUR in less than 8 minutes time.

Buckle up... here we go. Can I do this all over again?

Too late, the low E flat has sounded, and we are bidden back to the Rhine once more.

Well I am not going to suggest Googling the word "get" along with the neologism "iplayer".

What a pity. I seem to be getting a lot of cross-channel interference on BBC FOUR at the moment.

Or even Automator with iPlayer if you have a Mac.

Im getting lots of sound dropouts with broadcast.

Do you mean "broadcast" or streaming? If the latter, don't worry too much, the captured version should be fine.
