It will be good to be able to enjoy the music without being constantly reminded that Alcina and her sister are old women of 70-something pretending to be 20-something and that’s all that matters. And that amazing Oberto is definitely worth hearing again.

Has my hearing gone funny or is there some shockingly poor intonation from one of the singers?

And I thought it was me!! They're at it again just now and the audience had the nerve to applaud!! Apart from that it's not bad at all but then it's a good piece.
