Didn't know where to post this, and it may be elsewhere on this board already, but just in case: an excellent obituary, and an amusing appreciation by Humphrey Burton. http://www.theguardian.com/music/201...9/dennis-marks

One of the most memorable Radio 3 day's broadcasting in recent times, for me.It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Thanks to utct for posting the obituary. It recalls some excellent programmes that DM was involved in, including that superb Leslie Megahey production of Duke Bluebeard's Castle (what a wonderful producer/director Megahey was), and the Frayn programmes on Central European cities.
DM made a great contribution to the cultural life of this country.
