    Janis Martin is Dead.

Should be Janis, of course, but software won't allow me to edit title.

Actually I think you can edit the title, but you have to go into Preview Changes mode when editing.

I recall Janis Martin as a frequent performer in Bayreuth Festival broadcasts in the 1970s particularly in the role of Kundry in Parsifal.

Not otherwise noted on the Forum: Irene Dalis, who sang the role of Kundry on the famous 1962 Knappertsbusch recording of Parsifal, passed away the day after Janis Martin (Dec 14).

I`m sure I saw Janis Martin as Kundry in the mid 1990s and thought her excellent.

          Allow me...

Sorry to hear about her death. She was my first Kundry. I was standing not far away at the Proms over two nights in 1972 with Boulez
