On the train home I thought it was a really interesting production though the Act 4 high up on a half finished motorway viaduct was somewhat bemusing .
Opolais was magnificent I thought a terrific singing actor/ actress .
Kaufman in excellent voice and acting as well as ever . maltman superbly sleazy as Lescaut .
No weak links at all land the ROH orchestra in top form and Pappano surely one of the all time great Puccini conductors the intermezzo will never seem the same again

wrong thread probably, but it looks like I may be at a cinema screening of the Met performance on Saturday.
Don't know this opera at all, so am I in for a treat ?I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
