Can't see that RVW's music would have been inferior or different if he'd been a short-arse.

Are we to have a Bolero bake-off? I was hoping it would only be mentioned once or twice

        Who nose. Might of.
The lark might have had further to ascend. Perhaps he would have viewed london peering apologetically over the embankment walls?

I might start a short arse composer of the week thread. Even people with napoleon complexes welcome.

Oh man, me too. Much more fun - and funnier - on so many levels.

Given her predilection for saying things in 'foreign', you'd have thought some cunning linguist could have been found at the BBC to teach her to pronounce even the majority of the vowel sounds in 'Ernest Ansermet' correctly...

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

            Naughty.
Anyway, I have tix for La Traviata shortly, and am trying to get in a Verdi groove, so keep the bubble bursting for after March 22 if you would be so kind!

Is Raffers on the Ravel case yet................

Perhaps she should ask 'Ansermet, O my love, just what vowels have I been guilty of...'

Might have been inferior or different if he hadn't had tuition from Ravel?

                    Indeed, I think that's true.

Not sure what your angle is in all this. You've already told us that you're a whopping one & 3/4 inch taller than Morris.

Listening to one composer, exclusively all day, is strange but very enjoyable.

Ravel has always been one of my favourite composers, a DID guy. Today is telling me that, that has not changed.

The vengerov/Pappano Tzigane and the piano Mother Goose in the last hour were phantasmagoric!!!!

As one who is an inch and a quarter shorter than Maurice I'd be most interested to see who makes the list.

I've listened on and off and enjoyed it enormously. A great idea well carried out.
Have we had a Debussy day?
