On the evidence of this concert, Job is clearly a masterwork and as others have remarked, Andrew Manze has got RVW's music coursing through his veins.
So how often does this astonishing work turn up at the Henry Wood BBC Proms?
It has not been programmed since 2008 when Sir Andrew Davis did a mighty all-RVW evening and only once more in the 2000s. Not once in the 1990s and only once each in the 1980s, 1970s, 1950s and 1940s.
The best of the BBC, with the latest news and sport headlines, weather, TV & radio highlights and much more from across the whole of BBC Online
Surely it's time to invite Andrew Manze and his Scottish chums to revisit it one Proms year soon, together with Serenade to Music and Symphony no 9 - or perhaps in a more 'continental' programme?
Any thoughts?

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
The other 2 symphonies from the concert are available too I think.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

It's been around for some time, (since April 2008 in this package, according to amazon.co.uk), is pretty good, and will not damage the bank balance too much.

The version with the good music. If you enjoy this, check out my clip of the "Hallam Hawaiian Players".
