Mine would be on John Rutter

              Or perhaps I really mean

I thought Masters and Mistresses of the King's/Queen's Musick only left the job on death.

As with recent Poets Laureate, the tenure has become a ten year one.

                    Maxwell Davies' Symphony 10

Sunday evening February 2nd an all British/English programme live from Barbican Hall,
including the premiere of Maxwell Davies' Tenth symphony.

                    Well worth listening methinks.

Indeed! One wonders if this could be the start of a new cycle of nine, with the conclusion of the final one referring back to the start of the Tenth...

It ought to be me. I have a piece dedicated to the Queen, with permission.

If they don't offer me the job, I shan't lose any sleep.

The title was "Golden Reign" - being for the 2002 Golden Jubilee.
