I have very much enjoyed this concert . I am afraid I missed the Flying Dutchman excerpts but a well paced and exciting Tannhuaser. Two Strauss songs delightfully sung and a very well played non bombastic Sibelius 1 so far.

Pressure of time/health/energy so missed this promising Sibelius... but look out! Next Wed and Thurs, blockbuster time! Mahler 6 (Jurowski) and oh no, not really, not again - my heartbreaker: the Leningrad Symphony... (Bychkov) - might have to skip the Mahler then...
Seem to do most listening around dawn now, so THERE'S a shift... -
