Concert Halls - The "other" Amsterdam Concert hall

    Hi all,

Maybe an idea if you are in Amsterdam, check out the "Muziekgebouw aan het IJ", the "other" concert hall.
Opposed to the Concertgebouw easy to find (near by the central station, the Concertgebouw is on the edge of Amsterdam)
and always interesting programs --> http://classicalspotify.blogspot.nl/...amsterdam.html
Curious what you think of that hall!

This reminds me of my first LP of Beethoven's 9th, played by the Amsterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. Does this ensemble exist, or was it a figment of Saga/Fidelity's imagination?

It did indeed exist. It was merged with another orchestra (possibly the Utrecht Symphony?) to form what is now the Netherlands Philharmonic. That was quite a while ago - in the 80s, I think.
