Looks like I should have either listened to, or recorded it, last night. Yesterday's Afternoon on 3 is only available in low data rate mono on the iPlayer Listen Again facility, and nothing else has been made available at all except Choral Evensong (also only in low data rate mono). Looks like there are fairly serious problems with the operation of the iPlayer.

Hello there
Will certainly give the concert a listen - especially after reading this :-
Imagine how discombobulated the audience must have felt at the 1962 premiere of Shostakovich’s most outlandish monster symphony, the Fourth, 26 years after its withdrawal at the rehearsal stage. Those of us hearing its natural successor, Schnittke’s First Symphony, for the first time live last night didn’t have to (imagine, that is).
Oh to have been in the audience
Best Wishes,
Tevot

In the pre-concert talk, MJ smiled at us and said: "This is a heavy programme. A very heavy programme. I'm very happy about that."
Jurowski joke!I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

A stunning concert, imo. The Ligeti was superbly paced and balanced. I missed the Luto but sat at home, rapt, during the Schnittke. I have three recordings of this work (2 x Rozhdestvensky, Segerstam); Roz's live account on Chandos is easily my favourite. However, last night, for me, trumped all of these versions: the LPO account I thought was the best performed of all the versions I know, totally assured and committed playing from all sections, with Jurowski as an ideal guide through the labyrinthine nooks of this sprawling masterpiece, especially in the intractable first movement. I would ideally prefer the more "hang-loose" approach of Roz in the aleatory sections, but overall Jurowski is now my favourite account.
